agnes’ research- based practice processes the contemporary world and its existing structures through soundscapes, installations, collective work and essayistic text pieces. Using mythology, science, and storytelling as their inspiration, agnes researches through utopias, manipulation, and non-linear dramaturgies to talk about the potentials of our collective future outside of the current systems of power.
agnes is based in northern europe and works across the arts field as a multimedia research artist.

SPIT NEW WORLDS INTO MY MOUTH (may 2025)
Spit New Worlds into my mouth is a group exhibition by Collective Sigh, an artist collective collaborating across northern and global countrylines, presented by Sluice Seyðisfjörður 2025 in Seyðisfjörður, Iceland. An immersive exhibition exploring queerness, a haunted house of sculpture, sound and performance. Inspired by Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, the work is a reclamation of monstrosity that celebrate the power of being queer, trans and othered.

The performance piece was a collaboration between Lip Wieckowski and agnes olander and was presented as a part of the group exhibition “7 witches walk into a bar”, presenting the final works of the artists in residence at the queer artist residency HEIMA in the fall of 2024. The residency was hosted by the artists Bella Podpadec, Ra Tack and Ju Canon and takes place in Seyðisfjörður in the east of Iceland.
